Before dividing a prom transportation quote among friends, agree on the entire evening. A photo stop, dinner reservation and several home drop-offs can change the vehicle time you need. The fairest cost split starts with a written total for one agreed itinerary.
Build one itinerary before collecting money
Choose one parent or guardian to collect the final details. A group chat can hold several versions of the same plan: one family expects a direct return, another has agreed to an after-prom stop, and the restaurant booking is later than everyone remembers. Send the transportation company one dated version.
The schedule needs a passenger-ready time at each stop, not just the time the vehicle reaches the address. After photos, allow time to gather the group and get back into the vehicle. At dinner, work backward from the school’s required arrival time.

Compare complete quotes, not headline hourly rates
Ask each provider to price the same vehicle category, dates, stops and service period. A short transfer and a vehicle kept for the evening are different bookings, even if both advertisements say “prom transportation.”
ATL Limo’s price should come from a quote for your actual itinerary. A competitor’s published hourly rate is not an ATL Limo rate. Ask which items are included before comparing totals.
- When does charged time start and end, and is there a minimum?
- Is the vehicle reserved during dinner and the dance, or are these separate transfers?
- Are parking, taxes, fees and gratuity included in the quoted total?
- How is extra time charged, and who may approve it?
- What happens to the price if a passenger drops out or a stop changes?
Split the confirmed total with a simple worksheet
Let Q be the full written transportation quote, including the items confirmed as included. Divide Q by the confirmed paying passengers. Do not divide by the vehicle’s maximum capacity unless that many people have actually committed.
Keep deposits and balances separate in the worksheet. A deposit is a payment toward the total only if the reservation terms say so; it should not accidentally be counted twice. Keep any optional extras separate until the group approves them.

Check the vehicle and photo stop before promising them
ATL Limo lists sedans for up to 3 passengers, SUVs for up to 6 and a Mercedes Sprinter for up to 14. Count any accompanying adult as a passenger. Confirm space for clothing, bags and any equipment; an advertised seat count does not settle every loading question.
Do not promise a stretch limousine or party bus based on the word “limo.” Choose from the published ATL Limo fleet and confirm the available vehicle.
A familiar Atlanta landmark is not automatically an available portrait location. Check the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s current visitor and photography guidance, or the chosen venue’s rules, before adding a photo session. A denied photo stop can disrupt both the schedule and the budget.
Agree on changes before prom night
Write down who can approve another stop, an extended booking or a changed return address. Parents should have the same final itinerary as the passenger contact. The chauffeur’s role is transportation; do not assume the booking includes supervision inside the venue.
If the group wants to remain later, contact ATL Limo before the reserved service ends. Extra time depends on the reservation terms and availability. An agreed late pickup is different from an open-ended promise to wait.
Check the total before collecting payments
Use the quote comparison worksheet to record the complete evening and any excluded charges. If the car is not staying during dinner or the dance, read the separate-transfer comparison before agreeing on return times.
Write down the confirmed total, number of paying passengers, payment already made and balance still due. Keep a dated copy when the group or route changes so everyone works from the same calculation.
