Conference arrival guide · October 15–16, 2026
ATD Super Southeast opens with breakfast and check-in on AmericasMart’s fourth floor. The main risk is not the trip into Downtown Atlanta. It is using the wrong address, reaching Building 1 instead of Building 2, or planning Friday’s return as if it ends at the same time as Thursday.
Put the correct first door in every trip brief
A driver, attendee and parking map may need two different addresses for the same destination. The conference address is 230 John Portman Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. The official AmericasMart parking page sends drivers entering the Building 2 garage to 230 Ted Turner Dr NW.
Do not replace one address with the other in a shared itinerary. Label each by purpose: “conference entrance” and “Building 2 garage.” If a reserved car will drop off the group, confirm the legal curb location with the transportation provider instead of treating the parking-deck entrance as a promised passenger drop-off.
- First required timeChoose breakfast, check-in or the opening session as the target. Do not use a vague “conference start” time.
- Correct buildingState Building 2 and Floor 4 in the traveler message. AmericasMart has more than one building.
- Correct entranceKeep the John Portman venue address separate from the Ted Turner garage address.
- Return decisionRecord Thursday and Friday departure plans separately because the days close at different times.
Build Thursday around the breakfast clock
The organizer lists breakfast and networking from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Welcome begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by the opening keynote at 8:20 a.m. A traveler who must hear the welcome cannot treat 9:00 a.m. as the arrival target just because breakfast remains open.
Work backward from the first session the attendee must join. Add time for the hotel lobby, Downtown traffic, unloading, finding Building 2, reaching Floor 4 and collecting a badge. Keep this as a planning buffer, not a promised drive time.
Choose MARTA or a reserved ride by the traveler’s handoffs
Peachtree Center Station is on MARTA’s Red and Gold Lines. MARTA lists entrances at John Portman Boulevard and Peachtree Street, plus Forsyth and Peachtree Street. The standard rail or bus fare is $2.50, with up to four free transfers within three hours when the same payment method is used.
AmericasMart describes MARTA as front-door service to Building 1. The conference is in Building 2, so riders still need to follow campus signs and reach Floor 4. Travelers should also check live service alerts before leaving; a station page is not a guarantee that every elevator, escalator or train is operating normally.
MARTA may fit
- The attendee can manage bags and station walking.
- The hotel or airport connects cleanly to the Red or Gold Line.
- The rider is comfortable navigating from the station to Building 2.
- The schedule leaves room for current service conditions.
A reserved ride may fit
- An assistant needs one accountable hotel-to-venue handoff.
- Several colleagues share the same hotel and start time.
- The rider has luggage, mobility needs or a tight session deadline.
- The group needs a confirmed return plan after the program.
For assistants coordinating an executive or client, use the Atlanta transportation trip brief to keep traveler contacts, pickup authority and schedule changes in one place.
Use two return clocks, not one standing pickup time
Thursday’s posted program ends with a closing raffle from 4:10 to 4:30 p.m. Friday’s workshops and breakouts lead to a 1:00 p.m. close. One repeated pickup time would either rush Thursday or leave travelers waiting on Friday.
For a point-to-point plan, set a separate pickup window for each day and name one contact who can release the vehicle. If attendees have meetings or dinner after Thursday, compare separate transfers with an hourly chauffeur plan for a multi-stop Atlanta day. Do not assume a vehicle can wait at the venue curb; confirm the pickup point and staging instructions.
- Thursday: decide whether the ride leaves after the 4:30 p.m. close or after a later team commitment.
- Friday: match the 1:00 p.m. close to hotel checkout, luggage storage, lunch or an ATL departure.
- Airport return: work backward from the airline’s required terminal arrival time, not from the conference close.
- Split flights: group riders only when their terminals and departure targets make one pickup practical.
Send one short brief before the conference
A useful booking message names the traveler, hotel, first required session, passenger count and return decision. It also separates the conference address from the garage address. That is enough to quote the requested movements without turning the event schedule into a transport guarantee.
- Traveler names and mobile numbers
- Confirmed hotel and lobby-ready time
- Building 2, Floor 4 destination note
- Passenger and luggage count
- Thursday and Friday release contacts
- Return flight details, if airport service is needed
Request an ATD conference transportation plan
