Cumberland convention arrivals

You can reach Cobb Convention Center from ATL by train and bus, but the last connection matters. The free Blue Circulator starts at noon Monday through Saturday. For a morning meeting, plan another way from Cumberland Transfer Center to the venue—or choose a direct ride from the airport.

Before choosing a ride: check when you need to reach registration, not just when your flight lands. A rail-and-bus trip reaches Cumberland; it does not put you inside the convention center.

Follow the rail–bus–circulator route

  1. ATL Airport to Midtown. Airport Station is inside the Domestic Terminal, between North and South baggage claims. Take a northbound Red or Gold Line train to Midtown. From International arrivals, use the free terminal shuttle to reach the Domestic Terminal and MARTA.
  2. Midtown to Cumberland Transfer Center. Board MARTA Route 12 toward Cumberland. The current route runs along Howell Mill Road and Northside Parkway. MARTA lists a typical 30-minute frequency, so allow for a wait as well as the bus ride.
  3. Cumberland to the venue area. When it is running, take the free CobbLinc Blue Circulator. The venue identifies a stop outside the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel’s main entrance. Follow the convention center signs from there and use your event’s registration instructions.

The Blue Circulator runs every half hour. Published service hours are noon–12:20 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11:30 a.m.–6:50 p.m. Sunday. These are the route’s service hours, not exact departure times at the Waverly stop. Check the Blue Circulator schedule and live information for your travel day.

Arriving before it starts? Arrange a separate ride for the final leg, or travel directly from ATL. Do not plan to wait for the first circulator if that would put you past registration time. Walking is a separate choice: check the actual pedestrian route and crossings rather than treating the transfer center as the convention entrance, especially with bags or limited mobility.

MARTA’s standard one-way fare is $2.50 per person, with up to four free transfers within three hours. Use exactly the same card or device for the train and bus. A bank card and its mobile-wallet version count as different payment methods, even when they draw from the same account. The Blue Circulator is free; a separately booked final-leg car ride adds its own fare. See MARTA’s fare and transfer rules.

Send a direct ride to the convention entrance

The destination is Cobb Convention Center Atlanta, Two Galleria Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339. Older material may call it Cobb Galleria Centre. Do not substitute Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, which is a different venue. If your event is at the downtown convention campus instead, use the ATL-to-GWCC guide.

The convention center’s main entrance is on Galleria Drive. Its loading dock and East Lot entrance use Galleria Parkway. For an attendee, “loading dock” is not a substitute for registration. Send your driver the entrance named by the organizer, not just a pin for the campus.

A prebooked car, taxi or app-based ride avoids the rail-to-bus changes. Choose this based on your arrival deadline, bags and ability to manage transfers—not a promised 20-minute airport journey. Check traffic for the actual departure time and leave room for baggage claim and the walk to your airport pickup.

ATL Limo’s Executive Limo service covers planned airport and corporate travel. Request a trip-specific quote for the convention entrance and any hotel stop. For a team landing on separate flights, use the shared-pickup guide before deciding everyone should ride together.

If the organizer assigns a special group arrival point, pass that instruction to the transport provider. Do not assume a bus or van can wait at a passenger entrance or fit inside a parking deck.

Driving? Use the convention decks, not nearby shops

The venue lists $15 daily parking, payable by credit or debit card only, with no in-and-out privileges. The Green Deck is accessed from Galleria Drive. The Blue Deck is across Galleria Drive and has a sheltered underground path to the front entrance. Neither deck permits oversized vehicles.

On Truist Park event days, special parking rates apply; convention attendees can receive validation that brings the fee back to $15. Waverly hotel and office-tower parking may cost something different. Do not park at Cumberland Mall or Akers Mill Square for the convention: the venue warns that vehicles may be towed.

Use the venue’s entrance and parking guidance alongside the organizer’s final instructions. A rental car makes more sense when you need it for other stops too; include rental, fuel and parking when comparing it with a direct transfer.

Check the whole connection back to ATL

For public transit, plan the return from the Waverly-area stop to Cumberland, then Route 12 to Midtown and an Airport-bound train. The last Blue Circulator is not necessarily a safe connection to the last airport train. Sunday’s earlier circulator finish needs particular attention.

Use MARTA’s trip planner and service alerts with the time you need to be at the airport. Allow for the walk out of the event, waits between services and your airline’s check-in and security guidance. If you need the International Terminal, include the terminal transfer rather than ending the plan at Airport Station.

For a reserved ride, agree on one named entrance and a pickup time that allows you to leave the hall and collect your bags. Teams with different flight times can use the ATL group-departure guide to decide whether to split the return.
