Airport Transfer planning guide
At ATL, the terminal, roadway level and meeting method all matter. A prebooked chauffeur pickup is arranged with the company; following signs for another transport service can take you to the wrong place.
Domestic and International pickups use different arrangements
ATL’s official ground transportation guidance describes domestic limousine meetings inside near the atrium or at a lower-level curb, and international meetings at Arrivals inside or the outer arrivals curb. The airport page includes differing domestic curb wording, so the booking’s confirmed side and level are essential.
These are general arrangements, not a specific door assignment for your ride. The company must confirm the approved meeting point for the vehicle and your arrival.
| Arrival | Confirm before moving | Avoid this assumption |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic | Inside meeting or curbside; side, level and landmark | That any baggage-claim exit is the pickup point |
| International | Public Arrivals meeting or confirmed outer curb | That landing means you are ready outside |
| Flight or terminal changed | Updated flight and revised instructions | That the original meeting plan still applies |
Separate landing time from ready-to-meet time
After landing, switch on the phone used for the reservation. Check messages, collect checked bags and complete any required arrival formalities before reporting that you are ready.
A useful message is: “We are at [terminal], have collected [all/not all] bags, and are at [confirmed landmark or door]. There are [number] passengers.” A street map pin alone may not show which roadway level you are on.
For a delayed bag, tell the company that you are still dealing with baggage services. Do not ask the chauffeur to approach an active loading curb while you cannot leave.
Understand the waiting clock before travel
ATL Limo’s indexed airport car service page states a complimentary 30-minute grace period from the scheduled pickup time. Confirm how that pickup time is set and what applies after the included period.
That policy does not mean unlimited waiting after customs or baggage claim. If you expect a longer delay, contact the company before the included period ends. Flight tracking and passenger readiness are related but different pieces of information.
If your airline rebooks you, send the new flight number and date. A company tracking the original flight cannot infer every change to your personal itinerary.
Use a calm sequence if you cannot find the driver
Stay at the agreed public meeting point while checking the confirmation. Compare the terminal, level and meeting method first. Then call the chauffeur or ATL Limo at +1 (315) 381-4222.
Describe a sign or door you can see. Ask whether you should remain there or move, and get the new location clearly before walking away. Check the supplied chauffeur and vehicle details before entering the car.
- Confirm Domestic or International, then the side and level.
- Check the phone number used on the reservation.
- Say whether the entire group and all bags are ready.
- Agree on one revised location if a change is needed.
- Tell the company before making another transportation arrangement.
Plan assistance and the onward address in advance
If a passenger needs airport assistance, arrange the inside-airport portion with the airline. Discuss the public meeting point and vehicle requirements with ATL Limo separately. Do not assume a chauffeur can meet at the aircraft gate or enter secure areas.
Provide the final hotel, home or office address, including the correct guest entrance. For families or groups, include strollers, mobility equipment and the full luggage list before choosing a vehicle.
A reserved pickup handles the ground journey. The clearer the handoff between airport assistance, passenger readiness and the chauffeur meeting, the less coordination the traveler needs to do on arrival.
Save one pickup message before the flight
Use this message after the meeting plan is confirmed: “My arrival is [flight / date]. The agreed meeting point is [Domestic or International / side / level / landmark]. I will contact [number or agreed channel] after [the agreed readiness step]. If I cannot connect, my backup contact is [name / number].”
For a group carrying checked bags, use the passenger-and-luggage guide before choosing a vehicle. If the person paying is not traveling, share the guest pickup checklist with the arranger.
Confirm your ATL meeting plan
Include your flight, passenger contact, bags and preferred meeting method in the transfer request. Confirm the terminal instructions before travel.
